Aquatic bioresources production in Russia over 4.4 mln metric tons YTD — federal agency

Fishermen caught over 3.2 mln metric tons in the Far Eastern Fisheries Basin

MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/. Production of aquatic bioresources in Russia from the 2022 year start has been over 4.4 mln metric tons, the Federal Agency for Fisheries reports.

"According to the sectoral monitoring system, production of aquatic bioresources by all Russian users was over 4.44 mln metric tons from 2022 year-start to date," the Agency said.

Fishermen caught over 3.2 mln metric tons in the Far Eastern Fisheries Basin. Pollack production totaled 1.78 mln metric tons and herring production was 399,800 metric tons.

Aquatic bioresources production in the Northern Fisheries Basin stood at 477,800 metric tons.

Fishermen produced more than 68,800 metric tons in the Western Fisheries Basin, including 21,200 metric tons of Baltic herring.

The total catch of aquatic bioresources stood at more than 76,100 metric tons in the Volga-Caspian Fisheries Basin and 38,600 metric tons in the Azov-Black Sea Fisheries Basin.

Production totaled 508,600 metric tons in exclusive economic zones of foreign countries, convention areas and the open part of the oceans.
