Agreement with Morocco on peaceful nuke cooperation in the pipeline — Russian diplomat
In October, the Russian government approved an agreement on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy between Moscow and Rabat
MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/. The agreement on cooperation on using atomic energy for peaceful purposes between Moscow and Rabat is being prepared for signing, but no specific terms have been determined yet, Ambassador at large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Oleg Ozerov told TASS in an interview.
"The mentioned agreement is still being prepared for signing, the place and time [of signing] are yet to be determined," he said.
In October, the Russian government approved an agreement on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy between Moscow and Rabat.
The agreement provides for cooperation between the two countries in at least 14 areas. In particular, Russia will assist Morocco in the creation and improvement of nuclear energy infrastructure, design and construction of nuclear reactors, as well as water desalination plants and elementary particle accelerators, provide services in the field of the fuel cycle, spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste management.
Russia will also assist Morocco in the exploration and development of uranium deposits and the study of the country's mineral resource base, the training of nuclear power plant personnel, as well as the training and retraining of personnel of the kingdom's state agency for regulating nuclear and radiation safety.
