Ukraine’s Khmelnitskaya NPP connected to the grid — regional chief
All of Ukraine was put on alert for missile strikes for more than two hours on November 23
KIEV, November 25. /TASS/. The first Unit of Ukraine’s Khmelnitskaya nuclear power plant (NPP) has been connected to the country’s electrical grid, the head of the western Ukrainian region’s military administration, Sergey Gamaliy, has said.
"The first unit <…> of the KhNPP has already been connected to Ukraine’s power grid," the official wrote on his Telegram channel on Thursday.
The Khmelnitskaya NPP was among the three Ukrainian nuclear power plants that were disconnected from the grid on Wednesday, and the first one to be reconnected.
All of Ukraine was put on alert for missile strikes for more than two hours on Wednesday. Explosions and damage to infrastructure were reported in Kiev, Lvov, Kharkov, Odessa, Dnepr, Nikolayev and other Ukrainian cities. The overwhelming majority of consumers were left without electricity nationwide, the Ukrainian Energy Ministry said. Also, the three Kiev-controlled nuclear power plants - Khmelnitskaya, South Ukrainian and Rovenskaya - were disconnected from the power grid. According to the ministry, the majority of thermal and hydropower plants were disconnected too, with electricity transmission lines damaged.
