Russia must get ready for worsening of global crisis, warns PM

This primarily means "further restructuring of the payment balance, conversion of currency assets to the national currency in the economy and expansion of international payments in rubles"

MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/. Russian authorities must get ready for intensification of the world’s crisis and the dynamics in sanctions, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Wednesday.

"Despite the stabilization of the economic situation, different variants of forecasts and scenarios of further developments exist. We must be very attentive to processes underway, considering the possible further intensification of the global crisis and the dynamics of other factors, including the sanction pressure, and, certainly, appropriately respond to that, elaborate solutions and prepare responses, with the analysis of all the possible risk scenarios," Mishustin said.

This primarily means "further restructuring of the payment balance, conversion of currency assets to the national currency in the economy and expansion of international payments in rubles," the Prime Minister said.

"Measures should also be provided to stimulate the investment activity, including development of the government guarantees mechanism," Mishustin stressed.
