Russia, Tajikistan see chance to boost investment cooperation — Ambassador
Russia is a leading foreign trade partner of Tajikistan and accounts for about 21.3% of Tajik foreign trade
DUSHANBE, November 21. /TASS/. Russia and Tajikistan can significantly increase investment cooperation in the coming years, Russian Ambassador in Dushanbe Semyon Grigoryev told TASS in his first interview at this post.
"There are plenty of opportunities for us to make a serious push forward in investment cooperation in the next year or two, since the future of our relations is in greater integration and cooperation," the diplomat said.
The heads of delegations, at their recent meeting of the intergovernmental commission of Russia and Tajikistan, concluded that there were plenty of untapped resources in investment cooperation, the Ambassador noted.
"That’s why a task force will be created fairly promptly between the industry ministries of both countries, which will consider Tajikistan's proposal on the wider participation of Russia in the development of the Tajik economy," he said.
Cooperation in the investment sphere is the backbone of any intergovernmental economic interaction, the Ambassador added.
