Erdogan unveils plan with Russia to provide flour for poor African countries
The grain deal was renewed on November 19 based on the decision made by the UN, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine
ANKARA, November 21. /TASS/. Turkey wants to process Russian wheat into flour and supply it to poor countries, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters.
"Mr. [Russian President Vladimir] Putin made the following offer to me, ‘Let us send this grain free of charge to underdeveloped, more precisely, poor countries.’ We actually planned that we can receive wheat, process it into flour in Turkey and then send it to these underdeveloped countries," Erdogan detailed, according to the Milliyet newspaper.
Meanwhile, on November 17, the Turkish leader had already said that he wanted to receive grain from Russia and process it into flour and then send it to poor countries in Africa.
