MOSCOW, November 18. /TASS/. The Air Arabia Abu Dhabi air carrier, which has been performing five flights to Moscow per week since November 18, will carry out one flight per day from December 1, the UAE Embassy in Moscow said in a comment for TASS.

According to the embassy, the important role played by Emirati air carriers in boosting commercial and cultural ties with Russia, as well as bilateral investment and travel, was emphasized in the welcoming letter by Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Russian Federation Mohammed Ahmed Sultan Essa Al Jaber. The letter was read out during a launch ceremony for Abu Dhabi - Moscow flights at the Russian capital’s Domodedovo International Airport.

"In this context, His Excellency mentioned Air Arabia Abu Dhabi <…>, performing five flights from Abu Dhabi to Moscow starting from November 18 and preparing to carry out one flight to Moscow every day starting from December 1, during the period of the 51st UAE National Day celebrations," the embassy said.

The ambassador also congratulated Air Arabia Abu Dhabi on this important move, which helps to promote trade, investment and travel between the Russian and UAE capitals and to extend social and cultural ties between the two friendly antions.

"His Excellency reaffirmed his support to increasing the number of flights connecting cities in the two countries, which reflects the strategic relationship between the UAE and the Russian Federation," the embassy said.

Al Jaber noted that the embassy paid great effort to increasing the number of flights performed by Russian and Emirati air carriers. "As a result, the total number of flights between the two countries has reached 232 flights per week," the UAE embassy said.

Around 400,000 Russian tourists visited UAE last year, while the number of UAE tourists in Russia stood at 28,000 in the reported period.
