Russia-UAE trade turnover to grow 10% by end of year — Trade Representative
The healthcare sphere is the most promising among opportunities of trade and economic cooperation between Moscow and Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI, November 16. /TASS/. The trade turnover between Russia and the United Arab Emirates could grow by 10% as of 2022 year-end, Russian Trade Representative in the UAE Andrey Terekhin said on Wednesday.
"As regards our trade and economic relations, this is exactly what we are proud of. The UAE became the leading country in the Middle East in terms of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and one of the countries of the Arab East. Our trade turnover surged above [$] 5 bln and reached $5.4 bln. Furthermore, despite all the circumstances, such an established pace continues this year and we objectively believe that indicators will grow by about ten percent in this year," the Trade Representative said.
"The UAE keeps its leading role as the principal trade and economic partner of Russia not merely among GCC states but across the Middle East at large, and there are real and objective grounds for that," Terekhin said.
The healthcare sphere is the most promising among opportunities of trade and economic cooperation between Moscow and Abu Dhabi, he added.
