"At the moment, there are no discussions on this topic," he said, responding to a relevant question.

In September, Toyota Motor Corporation announced a decision to close its assembly plant in St. Petersburg. The company's plant was designed to produce 100,000 cars a year. The plant was commissioned at the end of 2007, producing the RAV4 and Camry models under a special investment contract concluded with Russia’s Industry and Trade Ministry.

Earlier, FSUE NAMI acquired the Russian assets of another Japanese automobile corporation, Nissan. The deal is expected to close this month. The transaction involves the transfer of 100% of the assets, including Nissan's production and research facilities in St. Petersburg, as well as a sales and marketing center in Moscow. The deal includes an option to buy back the stake of Nissan Manufacturing Rus, which can be exercised within the next 6 years.
