Russia's foreign trade surplus reaching $257.1 bln in January-October 2022 — Central Bank

MOSCOW, November 10. /TASS/. The foreign trade surplus in Russia soared more than twofold year-on-year and amounted to $257.1 bln in January-October 2022 ($125.6 bln in the like period of the last year), the Central Bank of Russia reported on Thursday.

The current account surplus surged from $123.4 bln to $215.4 bln in the reporting period.

"The positive balance of goods and services as a result of the increase in the cost volume of goods export against the decline in the value of goods import relatively to the prior year figure played the decisive role in the evolution of the current account dynamics," the regulator said.
