Russia’s National Wealth Fund’s volume rises to $186.9 bln

It is noted that approximately $3 bln were invested in debt obligations of foreign states

MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. The volume of the National Wealth Fund of Russia in October this year increased by 581.9 bln rubles ($9.54 bln) and as of November 1 amounted to 11.4 trillion rubles ($186.9 bln), the Ministry of Finance announced on Tuesday.

As of October 1, the volume of the National Wealth Fund reached 10.8 trillion rubles. The volume of the liquid part of the National Wealth Fund as of November 1, 2022 amounted to 5.9% of GDP, or around 7.8 trillion rubles ($127.9 bln).

Around 45.7 bln euro, 4.9 bln pounds sterling, 692.7 bln Japanese yen, 309.7 bln Chinese yuan, 554.9 tonnes of gold in impersonalized form, and over 526.7 mln rubles were deposited with the Bank of Russia. Moreover, slightly over 528.18 bln rubles were deposited with VEB.RF development bank.

Approximately $3 bln were invested in debt obligations of foreign states, 319.38 bln rubles and $2.221 bln were invested in securities of Russian issuers related to implementation of self-sustained infrastructure projects, and another 328.9 bln rubles - in preferred shares of credit organizations.

A total of 138.433 bln rubles were deposited with VTB and Gazprombank for financing self-sustained infrastructure projects, and 65.6 bln rubles were invested in ordinary shares of Aeroflot.
