Russia to update program for hydrogen industry development by year end — Deputy PM
Projects on production, storage and transportation of hydrogen were presented by Rosatom, AFK Sistema, Gazprombank
MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed the government to finalize a comprehensive program for the development of the low-carbon hydrogen energy industry until 2035 by the end of 2022, the government said in a statement. He also instructed the Cabinet to update the proposals of companies and the scientific community on measures of state support for hydrogen projects.
"It is necessary to adjust the target indicators of the program in favor of increasing the share of domestic technologies and reducing export plans," Novak aid as quoted in the statement.
"In the current situation, we have felt the impact of sanctions, including on hydrogen energy projects. However, we believe that the development of hydrogen technologies is still one of the highest priorities," Novak added.
Projects on production, storage and transportation of hydrogen were presented by Rosatom, AFK Sistema, Gazprombank. Among them are a hydrogen fuel cell train in Sakhalin, hydrogen fuel cells for mainline and commercial vehicles in Tatarstan, the production of tank containers for transporting hydrogen in the Moscow region, and the development of a hydrogen refueling infrastructure in the Krasnoyarsk region.
The priorities for the development of hydrogen energy in the face of new economic challenges include the development of domestic technologies for the production, storage and transportation of hydrogen for the domestic and international markets.
