Russia, Central Asia to ensure stability of food supplies

Aggravation of the geopolitical situation jeopardizes stable movement of goods among countries, including the ones significant for agriculture

MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. Presidents of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan consider important to ensure stability of food supplies in condition of aggravating geopolitical situation, heads of states said in their joint statement after the Russia - Central Asia summit, posted by the Kremlin’s press service.

"Aggravation of the geopolitical situation jeopardizes stable movement of goods among countries, including the ones significant for agriculture. We consider it is of utmost importance to ensure availability of food, access to it, sufficiency of foodstuffs for the population and stability of such supplies," according to the document.

"We attribute high importance to strengthening of energy security and sustainable development of the fuel and energy sector on the basis of implementation of advanced low-emission (green) technologies, use of fossil fuels, and renewable energy development," the document reads.
