KIEV, October 11. /TASS/. Rolling blackouts have been introduced in Kiev and the Kiev region, the DTEK Kiev Regional Electric Grids announced on Tuesday.

"In order to balance the energy system, hourly power outage schedules are introduced. <...> To balance the energy system and prevent large-scale outages, the state-owned energy company NPC Ukrenergo introduced emergency power outage schedules. Part of the industrial and residential customers in the Kiev region came under it," the report says.

DTEK Kiev Regional Electric Grids also promises to publish daily schedules with addresses and shutdown times starting from October 11. "The outages are expected to last no more than a few hours," the company said.
