MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. The Crimean Department of the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service will open a hotline for residents to inform about the rise in prices for socially significant foodstuffs amid the situation with the Crimea Bridge, the department’s press service said.

"For purposes of the prompt response of the antimonopoly agency to facts of the increase in food prices, the Crimean Department of the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service opens a hotline for applications on issues of the rise in prices for socially significant foods in stores," the press service said.

The Department is monitoring the situation in cooperation with government authorities and invites attention to the fact that the ungrounded overpricing of food and fuel in Crimea is unacceptable.

"The situation is under control at the moment. The analysis reveals that there are no grounds for the roaring demand and the related price hike; food and fuel reserves are sufficient to meet the demand and there are no risks of shortage," the press service said.

On Saturday morning, a truck exploded on the Crimea Bridge, setting on fire the fuel tanks of a freight train running near along its rail part. Three people were killed and two eastbound sections of the bridge’s road part collapsed. A government commission chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin was set up after the accident. Rail traffic restarted on the bridge, which was also partly reopened for buses and automobiles.
