EU to temporarily exclude oil supplies from Sakhalin-2 to Japan from sanctions — document

It is noted that the exemption will apply from December 5, 2022 until June 5, 2023

BRUSSELS, October 6. /TASS/. The European Union (EU) provided a temporary exemption for oil transportation from the Sakhalin-2 project to Japan from sanctions, according to the document posted in the EU Official Journal on Thursday.

The scope of exemption is "the transport by vessel to Japan, the technical assistance, brokering services, financing or financial assistance related to such transport, of crude oil falling under CN 2709 00 commingled with condensate, originating in the Sakhalin-2 Project, located in Russia," the document reads.

The exemption will apply from December 5, 2022 until June 5, 2023.
