Italy’s Eni confirms resumption of gas supplies from Russia
On October 1, Eni said it had received a notice from Gazprom that it would not be able to deliver gas in the requested volume due to the impossibility of transit through Austria
ROME, October 5. /TASS/. Italy’s energy company Eni reported on Wednesday that gas flows by Gazprom had resumed.
"Eni informs that gas flows supplied by Gazprom through Austria have resumed today. The resumption of supplies was made possible by the resolution, by Eni and the parties involved, of the constraints deriving from the new legislation introduced by the Austrian regulatory authorities," the company said in a statement released on its website.
Earlier, Gazprom said a decision on supplies had been found with purchasers of gas in Italy, adding that transportation of Russian gas through Austrian territory was being resumed.
On October 1, Eni said it had received a notice from Gazprom that it would not be able to deliver gas in the requested volume due to the impossibility of transit through Austria. Later Gazprom said Russian gas supplies via Austria had been suspended due to the Austrian operator’s refusal to confirm nominations because of changes in the regulation.
