National currencies will be used in settlements on EAEU’s commodity market
It is reported that the commodity exchange market of the EAEU will be launched in 2025
MOSCOW, August 26. /TASS/. Settlements on the common exchange market of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will be made in the national currencies of the Union countries, press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) told TASS.
"Settlements will be made in the national currencies of the EAEU countries. There are no plans to create a basket of currencies," Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the EAEU Sergey Glazyev was quoted by the press service.
According to the minister, the commodity exchange market of the EAEU will be launched in 2025. He stated that the concept of market formation will be approved in 2023, and the program for its implementation will be completed by the end of 2024.
The formation of an EAEU common exchange commodity market is included in the Strategy-2025. In July, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange held a test trading session as part of the development of a common exchange market for the Union's goods.
