Freight turnover through the territory of Russia is growing

MINSK, August 25. /TASS/. Belarus and Russia are going to sign a new agreement on cargo transportation along transport corridors passing through the territory of the two states, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

"Freight turnover through the territory of Russia is growing. This gives additional revenue to both the ports of the Russian Federation and the railway. Moreover, we have plans to increase shipment volumes. Another agreement on the development of the transportation of goods via the transport corridors on the territory of our countries is ready for signing. This will apply to the southern region," he said as quoted by the BelTA news agency.

The Belarusian prime minister also said that documents on cooperation with Russia in microelectronics, the development of microelectronic technologies and electronic engineering, and the recognition of technological operations that are carried out in the Union State have been prepared for signing. Also, Minsk and Moscow will sign documents concerning the implementation of a single industrial policy in the Union State, Golovchenko added.
