Hainan hosts forum on modern seed production

The forum included an exhibition of over 5,500 square meters, which was attended by 50 companies

SANYA, July 30. /TASS/. More than 1,500 scientists and other specialists participated in the 2022 China Seed Congress and the Nanfan Agricultural Silicon Valley Forum in Sanya, Hainan Province, South China. This was reported by China Daily.

The event was attended by researchers, experts, representatives of government agencies and Chinese and foreign companies engaged in the industry. The forum also included 13 thematic conferences and more than 100 presentations on new technologies, promising trends in seed production and the latest trends in the global industry.

In addition, a thematic exhibition with a total area of more than 5.5 thousand square meters was held during the forum, which was attended by 50 companies.

The Yazhou Agricultural Science and Technology Cluster was established in 2019. Its total area is about 70 square kilometers. The agricultural park includes the Nanfan Scientific and Research Breeding Base: so far, scientists have been able to breed more than 20,000 new crop varieties there, which is about 70% of China's national figure.
