MOSCOW, June 22. /TASS/. IKEA starts warning shopping centers where stores and studios of the Sweden-based retailer are located about the desire to terminate lease contracts in advance, Vedomosti newspaper reports on Wednesday, citing sources on the commercial real estate market.

According to sources, letters from the Swedish company were received by almost all shopping centers where IKEA has presence. Vedomosti notes that this refers to unilateral cancellation of contracts, meaning huge penalties for the company.

IKEA stores and studios are present in ten shopping malls in Moscow, the newspaper reported. A spokesperson of one of them acknowledged receipt of the notice from IKEA to Vedomosti.

IKEA announced the intention to sell all four factories in Russia and reduce the business scale in the country on June 15.
