Tit-for-tat measures to redirect Lithuanian economic flow to Russia — Governor

Lithuania notified local authorities that it stopped traffic of goods under sanctions carried by transit from Russian regions to the Kaliningrad Region since June 18

KALININGRAD, June 22. /TASS/. Proposals on tit-for-tat measures developed recently by authorities of the Kaliningrad Region must focus on redirecting the economic flow of the Baltic States, the governor of the region said on the air with the Soloviev.Live TV Channel.

"I believe such proposals should focus on redirecting the economic flow and money earned by Lithuania and the Baltic States on the whole to Russia. We have such proposals," Anton Alikhanov said.

"We will do so that money earned by them earlier will be earned by us," he added.

Lithuania notified local authorities that it stopped traffic of goods under sanctions carried by transit from Russian regions to the Kaliningrad Region since June 18. It became known yesterday that restrictions also affected carriage by trucks. The Russian Foreign Ministry said actions of Lithuania are unlawful and contradict international agreements.
