KALININGRAD, June 22. /TASS/. The Kaliningrad Region will need several weeks to redirect goods exempt from sanctions from ferries to railway, the governor of the region said on the air with the Soloviev.Live TV Channel.

"We will need some time, probably several weeks, to redirect goods exempt from sanctions from ferries to railway and redirect the ones under sanctions to marine transport. This is an urgent action, and we are implementing it now," Anton Alikhanov said.

Residents of the region have not experienced any complications in a broad sense, the governor noted. Authorities maintain constant contacts with the business that had to urgently redirect its logistical chains due to Lithuania’s actions.

Lithuania notified local authorities that it stopped traffic of goods under sanctions carried by transit from Russian regions to the Kaliningrad Region since June 18. It became known yesterday that restrictions also affected carriage by trucks. The Russian Foreign Ministry said actions of Lithuania are unlawful and contradict international agreements.
