Russian Railways’ loading volumes down 5.6% in May 2022 to 104.6 mln tonnes

Year-to-date loading volumes fell by 2.1% year-on-year to 514.9 mln tonnes

MOSCOW, June 1. /TASS/. Russian Railways’ loading volumes decreased by 5.6% in May 2022 year-on-year to 104.6 mln tonnes, the state-owned railroad monopoly reported on Wednesday.

"The volume loaded on the network of Russian Railways amounted to 104.6 mln tonnes in May 2022, down by 5.6% year-on-year," the report said.

Freight turnover slipped by 0.4% in the reporting period year-on-year to 226.8 bln tariff tonne-kilometers, while freight turnover including empty run lost 1.1% in the same period to 283.3 bln tonne-kilometers, the company said.

Year-to-date loading volumes fell by 2.1% year-on-year to 514.9 mln tonnes.

Year-to-date freight turnover was up by 2% to 1.1 trillion tariff tonne-kilometers, while freight turnover including empty run added 1.2% in the same period to 1.4 trillion tonne-kilometers.
