Gas price in Europe up 3% to almost $1,050 per 1,000 cubic meters as trading opened
Earlier, Gazprom confirmed full suspension of gas supplies to the Dutch gas trader GasTerra due to failure to pay in rubles
MOSCOW, May 31. /TASS/. The price of gas in Europe added 3%, almost reaching $1,050 per 1,000 cubic meters as Tuesday trading opened, according to data provided by London’s ICE.
The price of gas futures for July delivery at the TTF hub in the Netherlands rose to $1,045 per 1,000 cubic meters, or 94.05 euro per MWh (on the basis of the current euro exchange rate against the dollar, prices at ICE are in euro per MWh).
The total increase in the gas price since the beginning of the day has reached 3%.
Earlier, Gazprom confirmed full suspension of gas supplies to the Dutch gas trader GasTerra due to failure to pay in rubles on Tuesday.
On Monday, Gazprom Export said it would suspend contracted supplies of Russian gas to its main partner in the Netherlands, the gas trader Gasterra, on May 31 due to the fact that the Dutch company failed to pay for gas supplied in April and refused to pay in rubles.
Gasterra said earlier it decided not to comply with Gazprom’s requirements to pay for supplied gas in Russian rubles.
