Russia will not cut itself off from developed countries’ technologies — Putin
The Russian president added that if Russia "does not hide behind a wall, then no one will be able to separate a country like Russia"
MOSCOW, May 26. /TASS/. Russia is not planning to cut itself off from the technologies of developed countries, they are trying to "squeeze us out," but it is impossible, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Eurasian Economic Forum.
"Of course, we understand the huge technological advantages, the advantages of high technologies in developed economies. We are not going to cut ourselves off from it, they want to squeeze us out of it. But in today's world, this is simply unrealistic, it is impossible," he said.
Putin added that if Russia "does not hide behind a wall, then no one will be able to separate a country like Russia." Moreover, he pointed out that this also applies to Russia's partners in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The president reminded that for several years Russia has been building relations within the framework of the so-called Greater Eurasian Partnership and this is connected not with political conjuncture, but with global economic tendencies, "with the fact that the center of economic development is gradually shifting, and this shift continues even now, to the Asia-Pacific Region."
