West strongarms Russia's partners around the world, says diplomat

In overcoming such difficulties, Russia needs to keep in mind that it has to be ready to provide benefits to the EurAsEC member states, Alexander Pankin noted

MOSCOW, May 26. /TASS/. The West strongarms Russia's partners around the world, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin said.

"[The West uses] its ‘sanctions from hell’ or ‘atomic sanctions’ against Russia, and against Belarus as well, crude while using blackmail against our friends inside the EurAsEC (former name of the EAEC, the Eurasian Economic Union - TASS) and strongarm tactics against our partners around the world," he said on Thursday during a panel discussion called ‘Prospects for Developing Eurasian Integration under Global Changes’ within the Eurasian Economic Forum, which is being held in Bishkek.

According to the deputy foreign minister, in overcoming such difficulties, Russia "needs to keep in mind that it has to be ready to provide benefits [to the EurAsEC member states]."

"Today, it turned out that global food security depends on us, this is with a small share of Russian agriculture and Belarusian agriculture," Pankin highlighted, calling it a key factor for the current market configuration.
