Russian editions of Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping to assume new names
The local versions will be issued in phases
MOSCOW, May 5. /TASS/. The Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, Good Housekeeping, known in Russia as Domashny Ochag, and Men’s Health magazines, which are part of Russia’s Independent Media publishing company, will assume new names to operate in the country but will stay true to their respective concepts, the company’s director general, Natalia Vesnina, said.
US-based publisher Hearst earlier revoked licenses from the Russian company’s publications.
"The titles that earlier came out using the Hearst brand names will now assume new names," Vesninan said in an interview to Peopletalk. "As for the rest, they will be reinvented versions of the familiar products with broadened concepts, which was made possible due to the removal of licensing restrictions."
The local versions will be issued in phases, Vesnina said. "It won’t be long before you will learn the new names of some of them," she said.
Vesnina said the current circumstances are a great chance for independent development.
