TASS, May 4. Permanent representatives of the EU member-states did not reach an agreement on the embargo of the Russian oil import and talks will continue on May 5, Reuters news agency said, citing a source.
Certain EU member-countries, particularly Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, expressed concerns regarding the suggested measures to abandon Russian oil. The first discussion of the oil embargo ended with the lack of consensus. The agreement can be reached on the next meeting of permanent representatives planned on Thursday, the source said.
The European Commission earlier announced the sixth package of sanctions on Russia, which comprises a deferred ban on crude oil and petroleum products export to the European Union. The ban can be put into effect at the turn of this year - early next year.
