MOSCOW, April 29. /TASS/. Russian independent gas producer Novatek intends to protect its interests and property in Poland within the framework of the current legislation, a company representative told TASS.
"We will protect our interests within the framework of the current legislation," the representative said responding to a relevant question.
When asked whether Novatek will provide access to Polish companies to its gas infrastructure so that they can supply gas to local end users, the representative noted that Novatek's division in Poland is ready to resume gas supplies as soon as possible.
"In the current situation, end users should not suffer," he added.
Earlier it was reported that the Polish authorities ordered Novatek Green Energy (Polish subsidiary of Novatek), to provide state-owned companies with access to their gas infrastructure so that they can start supplying gas to areas left without gas supply after this company was put on the sanctions list by the authorities in Warsaw.
According to press secretary of the Polish government Piotr Muller, Novatek is one of the companies on the sanctions list that were affected by the property seizure.
Polish sanctions list
On April 26, Poland published its sanctions list against Russia and Belarus, which includes 50 positions - 35 firms and 15 individuals. In particular, the list includes Gazprom, Akron, Novatek, Severstal, PhosAgro, Beloil, Faberlic, Kaspersky, Kamaz, Wildberries and the CEO of this company Tatyana Bakalchuk, businessmen Oleg Deripaska, Mikhail Fridman, Mikhail Gutseriev, Vyacheslav Kantor, Evgeny Kaspersky, Igor Sechin, Viktor Vekselberg and others. Polish sanctions provide for the freezing of financial assets and property of these companies. The companies are not allowed to participate in tenders, and the entrepreneurs are banned from entering Poland.
On April 27, after being included in the Polish sanctions list, Novatek Green Energy stopped supplying liquefied petroleum gas to its Polish consumers. Because of this, several dozen Polish communes (a small administrative-territorial unit in Poland) were left without gas supply.
