Ruble zone will be introduced in Kherson region from May 1
The authorities plan to completely switch to rubles in the next four to five months, Deputy Head of the civil-military administration of the region Kirill Stremousov informed
MOSCOW, April 28. /TASS/. Deputy Head of the civil-military administration of the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine Kirill Stremousov announced the introduction of the ruble zone in the region from May 1 to help pensioners and state employees. According to him, full transition to rubles is planned to be carried out over 4-5 months.
"[Over] the last month, the pension fund and the treasury left the territory of the Kherson region. So, today people are left without payments or money. Therefore, from May 1, we plan to introduce the ruble zone [to provide] assistance, first of all, to pensioners, socially unprotected segments of the population and, of course, state employees," he said in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel.
"We plan to completely switch to rubles in the next four to five months," he added.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the entire territory of the Kherson region is under the control of the Russian Federation.
