LME bans warehousing of Russian metals

The ban is introduced in particular against Norilsk Nickel’s copper and aluminum produced by Rusal at plants in Russia

MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. The London Metal Exchange (LME) introduced a ban on warehousing of certain Russian metals in the United Kingdom, the Exchange said on Friday.

The decision was made after the UK introduced a 35% duty on import of certain Russian goods. The list in particular comprises iron, steel, lead, iron ore, copper, aluminum and silver.

The ban is introduced in particular against Norilsk Nickel’s copper and aluminum produced by Rusal at plants in Russia. The Alloy brand aluminum and lead are also in the list.
