MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. Russian companies are interested in substituting the western equipment in machine-building by the equipment from Chinese manufacturers, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Padalko told TASS on Wednesday.

"The demand has recently arisen with the Russian business to replace fallen production chains from European countries by Asian ones. The Sino-Russian Business Council also sets this issue for itself in order to help our companies in finding feedstock, materials, and investments in certain cases," Padalko said.

Regarding areas of cooperation with China, "the raw material component remains," the expert said. Creation of processed products in agriculture, lumber, metals and petrochemical industry becomes one of new areas, Padalko noted. "The third one is machinery products, of high interest for us. Again, we need now to take auto parts, spares, machines, mining equipment or drilling rigs from China," he added.
