Metro, Auchan retail chains, Toyota continue working in Russia
Shipments to companies in the restaurant and hotel business continue as usual in accordance with existing agreements, Metro representative said
MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. Metro chain of stores plans to continue operating in Russia, Auchan Retail Russia chain also continues to operate in Russia, representatives of the companies' press services told TASS.
"Metro continues to work in Russia. We do not plan to close our shopping centers. All Metro stores operate as usual," the company’s representative said, adding that the company has provided the necessary stock of goods and works on the supply chain. Shipments to companies in the restaurant and hotel business continue as usual in accordance with existing agreements, the representative added.
"Now our main job and responsibility is to ensure that there are enough goods on the shelves, supplies are stable, and prices are reasonable," the company stressed.
The press service of Auchan Retail Russia told TASS that the stores of the retail chain "continue to operate as usual".
Toyota said earlier it has no plans to leave the Russian market, all official Toyota and Lexus dealerships are operating as usual, the company's press service told TASS. The company's production in St. Petersburg has been suspended, but there are no plans to close the plant.
A number of foreign companies announced the suspension of activities in Russia, including retailers such as H&M, Asos, Inditex, which manages the brands Zara, Massimo Dutti, Pull and Bear, Oysho, Zara Home, Stradivarius, and Bershka, companies with goods for home and renovation - Ikea, Obi, fastfood chains - McDonald's, KFC, and others. Major Japanese cosmetics company Shiseido said it has decided to suspend supplies of its products to Russia due to the current situation in Ukraine.
