Hainan reveals new consumer products expo mascot
Hainan gibbons will bring good luck to both exhibitors and visitors

The organizers of the Second China International Consumer Products Expo, which will be held in about a month in the southern Chinese province of Hainan, have unveiled a new version of the mascot of this large-scale event. Now it will be represented by "industry gibbons".
Much like last year, small figurines of Hainan gibbons, unique primates that can be found only on the island, will bring good luck to participants and visitors of the exhibition. However, this time the designers changed the design of the three thematic versions of the mascot. They symbolize promising fields in the development of the southernmost province of China: seed production, deep ocean projects and the aerospace industry.
Thus, this year visitors will see "gibbons of good luck" dressed as breeders, scuba divers and cosmonauts. Plastic primate figurines will be available for purchase in so-called blind boxes - universal packages, which do not show the characters inside. The collection includes seven types of figures: two from each theme and one - "knight of the sea on a blue whale." In addition, you will be able to buy commemorative badges with the expo's symbol.
In 2021 a figurine of two embracing primates, made in the shape of a heart, became the mascot of the exhibition. One of its halves (female "Yuanyuan") was painted in orange, and the other (the male "Xiaoxiao") - in dark colors, close to black. Designers explained that the composition symbolizes integrity and solidarity, as well as the desire for environmental friendliness.
China International Consumer Products Expo will be held in Haikou (administrative center of Hainan) on April 12-16, the exhibition area will be 100 thousand square meters, 25% more than last time. The first ever consumer products expo was held on May 7-10, 2021 at Hainan International Exhibition Center, which was attended by representatives of 70 countries and regions, over 2.6 thousand premium brands and more than 1.5 thousand companies. Their products attracted about 240 thousand visitors.
