Porsche stops deliveries of cars to Russia due to situation with Ukraine

MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. German automaker Porsche decided to stop deliveries of its vehicles to Russia amid the situation around Ukraine. The relevant statement was published on the official website of the company on Thursday.

"Due to the current situation, Porsche has stopped the delivery of its vehicles to Russia with immediate effect. With the extensive interruption of its business activities in Russia, Porsche is basing its decisions on the overall situation, which is characterized by great uncertainty and the current upheavals," the company said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a televised address on February 24 that in response to a request by the heads of the Donbass republics he had made a decision to carry out a special military operation. The Russian leader stressed that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories. After that the US, the EU, the UK and a number of other states announced that they would impose sanctions against Russian legal entities and individuals.
