Transportation of gas to Europe via Nord Stream continuing in normal course

Nord Stream AG is not targeted by the sanctions against Nord Stream 2 AG neither by any other sanctions

MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. The transportation of gas to Europe via the Nord Stream gas pipeline is continuing as normal, Nord Stream AG, the operator of the pipeline, said in a statement on Friday.

"The transportation of natural gas to Europe via our pipeline system is currently continuing in the normal course. The full transportation capacity is available to the shipper," the company said.

Nord Stream AG is not involved in the Nord Stream 2 project, not engaged in the activities of Nord Stream 2 AG and, therefore, not targeted by the sanctions against Nord Stream 2 AG neither by any other sanctions, the company added. "Consequently, Nord Stream AG is able to execute its payments and settlements," the statement said.

Nord Stream, the export gas pipeline from Russia to Europe with the total capacity of 55 bln cubic meters of gas, runs through the Baltic Sea from Portovaya Bay, near Vyborg on the Russian coast, to Lubmin, Germany. Nord Stream AG, the operator of the pipeline, is an international joint venture of Gazprom (owns 51% through a subsidiary), Germany’s Wintershall Dea (15.5%), Germany’s E.ON (15.5%), N. V. Nederlandse Gasunie (9%), and France’s Engie (9%). —0—tre

Last year, gas supplies via the pipeline were at the record level of 2020 of 59.2 bln cubic meters.
