Russia to submit additional documents for Sputnik V approval in Europe — Kremlin spokesman
We are now trying to figure out what EMA think is missing, Dmitry Peskov pointed out
SOCHI, October 22. /TASS/. Russia will submit additional documents for the approval of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in Europe, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a video interview published on the Izvestia newspaper's website.
"The European regulator believes that the set of documents that has been prepared and handed over to the Europeans is still incomplete. We are now trying to figure out what they think is missing," he pointed out.
According to Peskov, the Russian Health Ministry and the Russian Direct Investment Fund will add documents to the set so that the vaccine is approved in the near future.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) said on Thursday that it was yet unable to say when Sputnik V would be authorized.
On August 11, 2020, Russia became the first country worldwide to register a vaccine against the coronavirus. The jab has been so far been approved in 70 countries with a total population of four bln. The EU regulator announced the start of Sputnik V’s rolling review on March 4.
