Teld New Energy to invest $ 300 million in electric vehicle charging stations on Hainan

HAIKOU, September 21. /TASS/. Chinese company Teld New Energy intends to invest up to 2 billion yuan (about $ 309.95 million) in the construction of a network of charging stations for electric vehicles on Hainan. According to the "Hainan Daily", the chairman of the board of the company Yu Dexiang announced that at World New Energy Vehicle Conference (WNEVC) in Haikou.

"We are very keen to scale up our capital investment on Hainan. We have planned to invest between 1 and 2 billion yuan ($ 155 to 310 million) in the construction of a network of charging stations in the region," he said.

According to him, he has already held negotiations on this issue with the relevant authorities in Sanya. "Hainan is a popular region in China in terms of developing the car market with new energy sources. This province is among the foremost in the country in terms of EV market penetration," said the top manager.

Teld New Energy was founded in 2014 and is a major electric vehicle charging station operator in China. It currently provides its charging services for cars on new energy sources in nearly 350 major cities of China. According to the company, about 13 million kilowatt-hours of electricity pass through its network of charging stations, which is about 40% of the national indicator.

World New Energy Vehicle Conference (WNEVC) 2021 was attended by manufacturers of cars and their components from more than 10 countries. In total, 1,500 Chinese and foreign specialists, experts and industry representatives attended the event. More than 100 car and component manufacturers presented their products at the congress.
