Task of improving Russia’s business climate remains irrespective of ratings, says Kremlin
The rating is a measuring instrument, Dmitry Peskov noted
MOSCOW, September 17. /TASS/. The task of improving Russia’s business climate remains irrespective of the World Bank’s Doing Business rating, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday.
"The task of improving business climate is not connected with any ratings. The rating is a measuring instrument. The task that existed, remains," he said when asked how the decision of the World Bank not to publish the investment attractiveness rating will affect efforts to improve the country’s investment climate.
The task is becoming increasingly relevant, Peskov noted. "That is why, of course, the work will continue on a regular basis," he said.
The World Bank reported on Thursday that it had decided to stop making annual Doing Business reports following the information about violations revealed in several recent reports.
