HAIKOU, February 27. /TASS// The organizers of the first China International Consumer Products Show, due in May 2021 in the southern Chinese province of Hainan, have begun accepting applications from exhibitors to host various industry-specific product promotions at the Expo, reported the "Hainan Daily".

The organizing committee divided the future events into several categories. These include, in particular, presentations and promotion of new products and services, networking, organizing briefings and presentations for products from different countries, industry events, as well as a number of separate special forums, presentations and briefings in different directions. Applications for holding certain events will be accepted by the organizing committee until March 31.

The proposal to organize the exhibition was included in the program for the construction of Hainan's free trade, published on June 1, 2020. On September 20, 2020, the Chinese Central Committee and the State Council officially approved it. The Expo is organized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Hainan government. It will be the first consumer goods exhibition in China.

According to data as of end of January, the share of foreign exhibitors will amount to about 80% of their total number at the exhibition, where Switzerland will be the guest of honor. More than 10 countries including Germany, Ireland, France, South Korea and Japan will present their national pavilions. The exposition of the exhibition will consist of five main sections: fashion, jewelry and diamonds, high-quality food and health products, travel and tourism products, and comprehensive services. More than 200 world brands have already confirmed their participation in the exhibition.
