Sputnik V developers announce start of vaccine trials with AstraZeneca

The CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund earlier said that clinical trials of the combination of the Russia’s Sputnik V and the AstraZeneca vaccine would begin in Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates and, later on, in Saudi Arabia
MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. The developers of Sputnik V have announced the beginning of trials of a combination vaccine with AstraZeneca, as follows from the post on the Russian vaccine’s Twitter account.
"Using Sputnik V shot as a second shot for AZ vaccine will eliminate the need to wait for 3 months. Clinical trials of this approach have already started," the Twitter post reads.
CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev earlier said that clinical trials of the combination of the Russia’s Sputnik V and the AstraZeneca vaccine would begin in Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates and, later on, in Saudi Arabia. The results of the joint clinical trials will be received no earlier than March or April.
