No German companies deserted Russian market amid pandemic, says key official in Berlin

He recalled that around 5,000 companies with German participation are active in Russia

BERLIN, February 16. /TASS/. Practically not a single Germany company quitted Russia’s market in 2020, amid the coronavirus pandemic, German Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier said on Tuesday.

"Practically not a single German company withdrew from the Russian market last year," he said in an address to an online conference on strategic cooperation between Russia and Germany.

He recalled that around 5,000 companies with German participation are active in Russia.

"Germany’s ministry of economic affairs and energy stands for invigoration of the economic and political dialogue, including amid the current sanctions," he stressed.
