HAIKOU, February 1. /TASS/. The newest high-speed trains of the CR300AF series "Fuxing" (translated from Chinese "Renaissance") will be put into operation on Hainan in the first half of February 2021, reported the Hainan Daily.
The trains will carry 613 passengers: 48 in the first class and 565 - in the second. According to the newspaper, the maximum speed will reach 250 km/h. Fuxing trains combine eco-friendliness, high safety and spaciousness.
Special attention is paid to the passengers' comfort; their seats are also equipped with USB ports for charging mobile devices. In addition, all travelers will be able to freely use the Internet while traveling - the train carriages are equipped with Wi-Fi access points.
Fuxing series trains were first brought into commercial operation in China in 2017 on the busiest high-speed railway line from Beijing to Shanghai.
The ring high-speed railway on Hainan was commissioned in December 2015. The 653 km long line runs along the island coast and has 25 stations. The maximum speed on the highway is 250 km/h on the eastern section, and 200 km/h on the west. The fastest trip from Haikou to Sanya takes 1 hour 43 minutes. According to the authorities, in the coming years it is planned to modernize the region's railway network to increase the speed of trains to 350 km/h.
China has the longest network of high-speed rail lines in the world - by the end of 2020, their total length in the country reached about 38,000 km. At the same time, one third of all high-speed railways in the country are designed for train traffic at speeds up to 350 km/h.
