Engine repair center to be opened in India in 2021
The center will make it possible for Russia’s United Engine Corporation to secure its position on the largest market abroad, according to international cooperation and regional policy director at Rostec Corporation
MOSCOW, February 1. /TASS/. A company dealing with repairs of Russian engines for Mi-17 type helicopters will be opened in India as early as this year, international cooperation and regional policy director of Rostec Corporation, Viktor Kladov told TASS in an interview on the eve of the Aero India 2021 exhibition.
"Such a project is indeed in place. Equipment for the center has already been supplied. Project execution was affected by the pandemic, prompting to revise the startup timeframe. The facility launch and the repair of first engines are planned already this year. Complete certification of production is scheduled for 2022," the director said.
The center's opening will make it possible for Russia’s United Engine Corporation to secure its position on the largest market abroad, Kladov noted. "This will be possible owing to conclusion of license agreements and contracts for design and technical support," he said.
"This gives us the prospect of promoting new services while the partner can benefit from our new products and expanding supplies of spare parts for engines," Rostec’s representative added.
