Nornickel sponsors Trans-Baikal International Film Festival
Nornickel is the film festival’s general sponsor
CHITA, May 14. /TASS/. The Norilsk Nickel Company (Nornickel), the Trans-Baikal International Film Festival’s general sponsor, allocated 20 million rubles ($306,000) for the event, press service of the Bystrinskoye Mining Company (a part of Nornickel) told TASS on Tuesday.
The film festival is due in Chita and Trans-Baikalia’s districts between May 30 and June 2.
"The Nornickel Company is the film festival’s general sponsor and it will allocate for this year’s event 20 million rubles - a year earlier, the company invested 15 million rubles ($230,000)," the press service said.
According to Bystrinskoye’s Director of Communications Dmitry Vinogradsky, the festival’s geography goes beyond Chita. The film festival’s events will also take place at the Bystrinskoye plant and in the Gazimursky Zavod settlement next to it - well known Russian actors will meet people, working at the plant, and the local audience. In future, Nornickel will continue supporting the film festival, the company’s representative said.
Chita hosted the first Trans-Baikal International Film Festival in 2011. In 2018, the festival’s venues were in Chita, the region’s eleven districts and also in China’s Manchuria, which borders Russia. About 60 Russian and foreign actors and filmmakers were guests of the event, which attracted the audience of more than 30,000.
