Subaru to recall over 52,000 cars in Russia due to potential faults — regulator
All repair work will be carried out free of charge for vehicle owners
MOSCOW, April 22. /TASS/. OOO Subaru Motor, a Russian dealer of Subaru, will recall 52,000 cars of Impreza, Forester, XV, BRZ, and WRX models in Russia due to potential malfunctions, the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart) reported on Monday.
In particular, 12,700 Subaru Impreza (G4), XV (G4), Forester (SH / SJ), and BRZ (ZC) cars sold in 2012-2014 will be recalled in connection with the potential fatigue breakdown of the valve spring of FB20 and FA20 model engines. Engine valve springs should be replaced in these vehicles, the regulator says.
Furthermore, 39,300 Subaru Impreza, WRX, WRXSTI (G3), XV (G4), and Forester (SJ) automobiles sold in 2009-2016. "The reason for vehicles recall is gaseous silicon that can potentially appear in an automobile with various consumer goods," the authority reports. The silicon "may penetrate the brake lamp switch case and lead to impaired conductivity," the regulator adds.
All repair work will be carried out free of charge for vehicle owners.
