MOSCOW, April 8. /TASS/. Russia’s national projects will open up big prospects for foreign investments, including Turkish business, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a joint meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and representatives of the business circles of the two countries.
"As part of national projects in Russia, hundreds of billions of dollars will be invested in the development of the most important sectors of the economy and social sector. Their implementation will open up significant prospects for foreign companies, including Turkish ones," Putin said.
According to the Russian leader, Moscow is interested in creating necessary conditions for the work of Turkish companies, and Ankara is interested in "implementing these projects, making a profit, working with a profit." He assured that the Russian side would do its best to support the Turkish business in these activities.
Putin drew attention to positive dynamics on all key macroeconomic indicators in Russia. In particular, in 2018, Russia's GDP grew by 2.3%, industrial production grew by almost 3%, he said adding that this "enables foreign companies to work steadily, confidently build long-term plans" in Russia.
"It is important for us to hear your opinion on what additional steps our government should take to ensure that business contacts can develop even more intensively," he added addressing to the representatives of the Turkish businesses.
Putin invited the Turkish businessmen to take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held in St. Petersburg on June 6-8, 2019.
