BRUSSELS, February 8. /TASS/. The draft paper of France and Germany on amendments to the EU gas directive eliminated its legal contradiction with the UN law of the sea convention, a diplomatic source told TASS on Friday.

"The revised text suggested by Berlin and Paris eliminated contradiction between amendments to the EU gas directive and the UN law of the sea convention," the source said.

As reported earlier, EU permanent representatives issued a mandate to Romania, which currently presides in the EU Council, for talks with the European Parliament and the European Commission on the basis of draft amendments developed by Germany and France.
