MOSCOW, January 18. /TASS/. Delegations from twelve countries confirm participation in the Arctic: Territory of Dialogue forum, due in April in St. Petersburg, press service of the event’s organizer - the Roscongress Foundation - said.
Initially the forum was to take place in Arkhangelsk on April 9-10. On Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev announced the forum would be organized in St. Petersburg.
"As of today, twelve leading countries have confirmed their participation in the forum’s business program," the press service said.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Trutnev said organizers received more applications than they had expected. The Arkhangelsk Region’s Governor Igor Orlov quoted 3,000 applications, which is by 500 more than for the previous year’s event.
The first forum took place in 2010 and was devoted to modern problems of the Arctic region. The second forum in 2011 focused on formation of the Arctic transport systems; the event in 2013 touched upon environmental safety. In 2017, the event’s key topic was "People and the Arctic." The Fourth Forum took place in Arkhangelsk on March 29-30, 2017.
